Two weeks ago I was in a wheelchair due to a flare of autoimmune psoriatic arthritis that inflamed my joints, causing significant pain, swelling and stiffness mostly in my right bone-on-bone knee, then going down my shin to my ankle, and also in both shoulders and 10 trigger-fingers. My normal mode of treatment is a visit to the doctor for a steroid injection; however, this was on a Friday and I knew I would have a rough weekend until I could get an appointment with my NP.
