Musty odors vanquished in hours!

So I live in a mobile home, it is getting up there in age, there have been several water leaks that occurred from plastic plumbing failures; the latest one had occurred above floor level, a large area got soaked, and that caused a strong musty odor in my home the last month or so. When looking through the different mold species, I read that ‘Chaeatonium Globosum’ is one that causes a musty odor and can grow when wood gets wet indoors. It is also said to cause mycosis and neurological infections in people. it is also an allergen that can lead to asthma, sinusitis, and respiratory illnesses, per Wikipedia. I don’t know that it had caused me any issues yet, but I was concerned about the risk. But mostly I was disgusted by the odor, air fresheners offer only brief masking of the odor, HEPA air cleaners are unable to remove the odor either.

So yesterday, I figured out how I would get this into the remote to eliminate it. I had a dish cloth that I had not allowed to dry and had that musty odor, I tore off about a half inch square piece of paper towel, pressed it on the dishcloth to get it moist, wrapped it in tape and slid it into the remote. The dishcloth went into a ziplock bag. In just 2 or 3 hours, the musty smell seemed to be nearly gone, but I continued to run the Chaetorium program overnight. Then I opened the bag this morning, even the dish cloth no longer smelled musty! This is proof positive to me that the remote treatment really works on what you put in it! Very happy with the results. I have also had black mold occur in the past, I need to find a good sample of it and go after that next.
